A 50-YEAR-OLD man accused of trying to have sex with a 6-year-old boy on the last day of 2012 was arraigned in Magistrate’s Court yesterday morning.
Robert Henry Johnson, of Martin Street, appeared before Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez facing one charge of attempted unlawful sexual intercourse.
Johnson was not required to enter a plea to the charge and was told that his case would be fast-tracked to the Supreme Court for trial by way of a Voluntary Bill of Indictment.
That Bill will be served on him April 16.
Johnson was remanded to prison as he is ineligible for bail in the Magistrate’s Court.
However, Johnson can apply for bail in the Supreme Court, Chief Magistrate Gomez said.
