Baha Mar matches $10,000 of Salvation Army donations

THE Baha Mar Challenge, an ongoing annual holiday season initiative during which the resort matches dollar-for-dollar donations up to $10,000 to the Salvation Army, helped to raise more than $70,000 during a 15-day drive.

The total represents a 33-per cent increase over 2011 and is the largest amount ever raised during the holiday programme.

“The Salvation Army builds a sense of community and transforms the lives of so many people,” said Robert Sands, senior vice president of administration and external affairs.

“We are proud to play a part through the Baha Mar Challenge and wish to thank all of those who helped to raise a record level of funds for an organisation that plays such an important role in our society.

“We look forward to continuing our support of the Salvation Army and to keeping the Baha Mar Challenge going strong for years to come.”

Proceeds from the 2012 programme will benefit the Salvation Army’s welfare and feeding programme and the School for Blind and Visibly Impaired Children.

Most excellent! There should be more prominent businesses doing the same as Baha Mar.
