Vote yes for misery

EDITOR, The Tribune.

$300,000,000 made from gambling in Web Shops every year! And all that lovely money spent by Bahamians will eventually help the Bahamian people!

WOW! No wonder Theresa Moxey-Ingraham who has battled for Bahamians all her life is involved. Of course, she is doing this out of the goodness of her heart and as the crowning defining point of her political career. To look for the politicians who really care about their people - check who’s spinning.

But wait a minute........Where does all this money come from? From Bahamian people who lose their money! What! Yes. Ask yourself some simple questions. How do you feel when you place a bet and you lose? Are you indifferent, happy or miserable? How about if you keep on betting to try and get your money back?

Suppose you lose the couple of dollars that you had put aside for the school fees? How would you feel? Dead miserable?, yeah?

$300.000,000 every year is made as a sum total of people’s misery. How many people do you know, be honest, are really happy because they play every day and win and they can say, “Oh, yes, Jesus, my life is so much better for these Web Shops”?

So, is this logical or what. If I go to the opinion poll and vote “Yes”, then I’m voting yes for misery.

Can that $300,000,000 be used elsewhere and help boost the economy and eventually create more jobs instead of all just going to PM Christie's "Number Boss" buddies?

No no no...you see it doesn't work that way!! Without the numbers bosses funding the governing party then they would not be in power and able to loot the treasury and corrupt pretty much every government office and position to their benefit. The crooks in power need the crooks with the cash to make the whole thing work to our detriment!! ;-)
