Murder and robbery case discontinued

MURDER and robbery charges against a teenager were dropped yesterday in Supreme Court after prosecutors produced a written directive from the Attorney General’s Office requesting that proceedings be discontinued.

While Aaron Clarke Jr, 18, was discharged, he was told by Senior Justice Jon Isaacs that the Attorney General could bring the case against him again at any time.

The nolle prosequi was presented by prosecutor Eucal Bonaby.

Clarke Jr was alleged to have committed murder on January 28, 2011.

It was claimed that on the day in question, Clarke beat Joshua Rolle near his home on Buttonwood Avenue, Pinewood Gardens and robbed him of a gold chain and pendant worth $5,000.

The victim, a father of two and a dialysis patient, succumbed to his injuries two days later.

Clarke always denied the charges against him.

Is there a place where I can count just how many murder cases are thrown out of court compared to those that actually go to sentencing. Police lock up these guys, beat them to a pulp, drag them in front of the cameras outside courts and in the end, they always get off due to insufficient evidence. I must be easy to sue the government for illegal arrest.
