ON the heels of the wildly successful Operation Potcake, the Bahamas Humane Society intends to launch a new campaign called “Real men fix their dogs”.

The campaign, according to BHS president Kim Aranha, will target “manly” men, who are often considered too macho to get their dogs spayed or neutered.

“It stuck me while I was doing Operation Potcake that a lot of men were bringing their dogs, and so I started to get impressed with the manly ones that were coming in.

“So I decided to take some pictures and start this campaign,” she said.

“I think it may actually encourage some men to bring their dogs in, because they can have their pictures on posters and they can get people to come and see we aren’t stripping these dogs of their manhood.

“We plan to get more people involved and take pictures of the men who come in to get their dogs fixed.”

Mrs Aranha said the campaign is not restricted to Operation Potcake and will continue to run long after the ground-breaking international effort finishes next week.

The first phase of Operation Potcake came to a close with 1,244 dogs having been treated – far more than expected at this stage.

The massive spay and neuter operation went into its two-day break on Monday, meaning the great work done at the Adelaide Clinic, where these images were taken, has come to an end.

The clinics resume today at four locations: East Street, Fox Hill, Kemp Road, Carmichael Road.

The unmanly ones don't fix their own doggys , that's why. Some need to get a vasectomy from Aranha whilst at it, and a reversal when ready to afford a child.
