CIBC FirstCarib executive to address energy prices

CIBC FirstCaribbean’s director and head of its client solutions group, Martin Peichl, will speak on ‘Controlling Fuel Costs in the Current Climate’ this Thursday at the 13th Annual Caribbean Energy Conference. The summit is being held at Atlantis, Paradise Island.

Mr Peichl will try to answer whether company can do anything to mitigate the spike in energy prices, and whether this is the new norm, during his presentation. He will outline the advantages or disadvantages of various strategies of managing energy price risk, and how companies can manage price risks to help mitigate the influence of price spikes.

This is the second year in a row that CIBC FirstCaribbean is one of the sponsors of the two- day conference. In addition to Mr. Peichl’s presentation, delegates will benefit from the insights of 25 energy and finance industry leaders and hear, in-depth analyses of seven project development case studies.

Mr Peichl heads CIBC FirstCaribbean’s Client Solutions Group, which is the derivative marketing arm of the bank. The team works with clients to develop risk management solutions that help manage their exposures to foreign exchange, interest rates and commodity prices.
