Security forces should have voted yes

EDITOR, The Tribune.

At the advanced poll yesterday, I hope the security forces voted yes.
It would have been in their best interest to do so.

I saw on the news recently that the junior police officers donated
bulletproof vests to the police force.

This suggests that the force
does not have enough vests for its officers and needs donations to make up the number.

Tax dollars from a legal numbers business could
help provide the money necessary for the police to buy all the vests
needed for all officers on the frontline.

I recall the last government during the election campaign talking
about buying new boats for the Defence Force.

Money from a legal
numbers business could help buy those boats too.

Similar examples could be given for all the uniform branches, but I
think you all get the picture.

There is nothing to be gained by Bahamians voting no next week.

The no campaign is driven by emotion.

If Bahamians sit down and reasonably consider the issue, a yes vote is
the only sensible position for us to take in this referendum.
