A MAN, after being charged in connection with a recent homicide that occurred eight days ago, admitted to damaging an electronic monitoring bracelet in March of this year.
Shadrach Gibson, 18, of Johnson Alley, appeared before Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez facing a charge each of murder and damage yesterday.
Gibson was not required to enter a plea to the June 9 murder of Sidney Brian Hart.
Hart was found at Wulff Road, west of Jerome Avenue, with multiple stab wounds, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
However, when charged with causing $2000 damage to an electronic monitoring device on March 23 of this year, the accused pleaded guilty. He will face punishment for that offence today.
Regarding the murder case, the accused will reappear before Chief Magistrate Gomez on September 2 when his case will be fast tracked to the Supreme Court for trial through a Voluntary Bill of Indictment.
He was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison until completion of his trial.
Gibson was not represented in yesterday’s proceedings.
