TESTIMONY in two high-profile Supreme Court murder cases was delayed by legal and private discussions yesterday.
Legal submissions in the Marco Archer murder trial lasted the entire day while private discussions in the Jimmy Ambrose murder trial lasted for nearly three hours with the presiding judge adjourning the case until today.
Kofhe Goodman, 37, of Yorkshire Drive, faces a murder charge, which he denies. It is claimed that between September 23 and 28 of 2011, he caused the death of Marco Archer, 11, who disappeared from Brougham Street and was found dead days later.
Goodman is represented by Geoffrey Farquharson.
Garvin Gaskin, Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions;Neil Braithwaite and Darell Taylor are prosecuting the case.
The case opened on April 19 and is being heard before Justice Bernard Turner.
The other case is before Justice Roy Jones.
Andrew Davis, Clint Evans and Stephen Stubbs each face a charge of murder and attempted murder in connection with the March 29, 1999 shooting death of Constable Jimmy Ambrose.
Evans is separately charged with two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to put another in fear.
It is claimed that the three accused, on the day in question, murdered Constable Jimmy Ambrose and attempted to kill Constable Marcian Scott.
It is also alleged that Evans possessed a firearm with intent to put Constables Frank Burrows and Calvin Robinson in fear for their lives.
All three men denied the charges and pleaded not guilty when formally arraigned at the opening of the trial.
Stubbs is represented by Murrio Ducille and Jerone Roberts while Davis and Evans are represented by Ian Cargill and Romona Farquharson-Seymour respectively.
