ARTS and crafts, food, wine and Bahamian music feature in a two-day festival to mark the 40th Anniversary of Independence.
The Nassau Festival of Arts and Crafts is scheduled for Rawson Square on June 27 and June 28.
On Thursday, from 11.30am to 7.30pm, there will be arts and crafts and a food and wine festival, preceded by an opening ceremony.
On Friday, a celebration of Bahamian music starts at 5.30pm and runs until 10pm.
A command performance by Dion Cunningham is also due to take place at 6.30pm at Government House on Friday.
On Saturday, June 29, the Bahamas National Symphony Orchestra (BNSO) holds its Independence concert at the Performing Arts Centre at the College of The Bahamas.
The proposed programme includes the Grand March from Tannhauser, the New World Symphony, Beethoven’s First Symphony, 1812 Overture, Nimrod, Moonlight night in Nassau & Bahama Lullaby and themes from 007.
The National Independence Flag continues its journey around the islands this week, in Exuma, today, Long Cay tomorrow, Andros on Wednesday, Bimini on Thursday and Abaco on Friday.
