SWIFT Swimming captured the Bahamas Swimming Federation’s 2013 RBC Swimming Nationals at the Betty Kelly Kenning National Swim Complex over the weekend. And their victory came with the following facts:
• Most points ever scored at a Nationals with 2,289 points, beating the Barracuda’s 2197pts in 2008.
• It was Swift’s third consecutive victory and their eighth overall.
• Swift recorded the most records with 25, including the Bahamas, Bahamas Open and National Championship records.
• Swift had five events where they swept the first, second and third places, inclusive of 9 and 10 Boys - 200 Free, 11 and 12 boys – 100 back, 11 and 12 boys - 400 IM, 11 and 12 boys - 200 back and 11 and 12 boys – 400 free.
• Swift also had five High Point Trophy winners. They were Liya Moncur - 8 and Under Girls, Cecily Bowe - 9 and 19 Girls, Joshua Roberts - 11 and 12 Boys, Albury Higgs - 13 and 14 Girls and Joanna Evans - Senior Girls.
• Swift also had two Runners-up High Point Trophy winners. They were Anya MacPhail - 9 and 10 girls and Mark-Anthony Thompson – 9 and 10 Boys.
• And Swift had two best swim award winners. They were Albury Higgs – 13 and 14 Girls – 50 Breast- 35.25 and Joanna Evans – Senior Girls – 800 Free – 8:59.49.
