FREEPORT – Grand Bahama Police are investigating two armed robberies that are very similar in nature, each involving a lone gunman with a similar description.
According to reports, the first occurred around 4.30am on Tuesday at Settler’s Way, when a man was robbed at gunpoint inside his home.
Inspector Terecita Pinder reported that police received a report of an armed robbery and burglary around 5.07am.
The victim, she said, told police that a man entered his home and demanded cash. The suspect was armed with a handgun, and was wearing black clothing, a mask, and gloves.
The man said he was punched in the mouth when he told the culprit that he did not have any money.
Inspector Pinder said the culprit then stole $5 from a vehicle parked outside that house before leaving.
The second incident occurred 6.35am on Tuesday in the area of Man-a-War Circle, when a man armed with a handgun entered a home and held up another man.
The victim told police that the culprit was wearing black clothing and a mask. He demanded cash and made off with $180 a handbag valued at $50 and an assortment of jewellery.
