POLICE yesterday said an intense investigation has been launched into a shooting incident that resulted in the death of two men over the weekend.

Following the incident, Marvin Rolle, a resident of Nassau Village was shot multiple times about the body. Investigators believe that Rolle was shot in his shoulder a few days before his death, but did not report the matter or seek medical assistance.

The second victim, who has not been identified, was shot numerous times in his lower back and buttocks.

According to officials close to the matter, a group of men were sitting on a wall at Prince Street near Nassau Village when a person unknown to them fired several shots. The incident happened at 9 pm on Saturday.

Upon examination, EMS personnel determined that the two men died at the scene.

As it stands, police are uncertain of the circumstance surrounding the deaths and are appealing to members of the public to contact them with any information they might have.

A stabbing incident, which occurred on Saturday at around 5 pm, is also being investigated, police said.

The victim, a 30-year-old man, is still in hospital as a result.

He was at Finlayson Street when he said he was approached by a stranger who stabbed him.

The man was later taken to hospital by a private vehicle. Police said his condition is unknown.
