Two armed robberies in Grand Bahama

FREEPORT – Police are investigating two armed robberies on Grand Bahama.
According to reports, the first happened around 3am on Monday in the Garden Villas area, where a woman was held up and robbed by two men.

Inspector Terecita Pinder said police were told the woman was walking at around 3.20am when a man attacked her from behind and attempted to rob her.

The victim fought off the assailant, but he was then joined by another man.

They robbed her of a silver diamond ring valued at $1,200, a gray flip Samsung cellular phone valued at $50, and $100 cash.

The second armed robbery occurred on Tuesday in the Coral Road area, where a business was robbed.

Inspector Pinder said police received information around 8am that two armed men entered the establishment and robbed it of an undetermined amount of cash.

One suspect was described as being slim and wearing long-sleeved blue shirt, dark pants and a tan cap.

The second is described as being slim and wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.

• Police arrested a man on Monday after drugs were discovered in a vehicle in the Freeport area.
According to reports, officers were in the Columbus Drive area around 7am when they stopped a green Honda Accord and conducted a search.

They found an undisclosed amount of marijuana wrapped in foil.
