THE family of a man who went missing at sea have appealed to the public for information about his disappearance.

Anthony Hepburn - known as Tony - is reported to have gone to sea in a yellow kayak launched from a Lyford Cay property next to Jaws Beach at Clifton Bay at about 7am on Sunday morning. His car and boat trailer were found at the property.

Mr Hepurn is caucasian, 6ft 3in tall, about 200lbs and has gray/brown hair and brown eyes. He is 72.

He was in a yellow kayak and it is thought that he was heading in the direction of Goulding Cay off Lyford Cay on a birdwatching trip, and may have turned back towards the Clifton Heritage Park.

Eyewitnesses report that the kayak was seen on a beach in the Clifton Heritage Park on Sunday morning at about 10am. However, the next day it was found further down the coast in an underwater cave near Blackbeard’s Steps at Clifton Pier.

It is thought that Mr Hepburn was carrying a black Nikon D300 camera with a 400mm Nikon telephoto lens that he used for taking pictures of birds. He is thought to have been wearing a green shirt, khaki or blue shorts, a beige hat and a yellow and blue life jacket.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police or Sarah Hepburn Pinosch on 457-3507 or Gian Pinosch on 457-1111.
