THE family of Anthony (Tony) Hepburn, 72, who disappeared from Clifton Bay on Sunday, May 5, is asking anyone who might have seen him to contact the police or the family.
Mr Hepburn’s kayak, in which he had intended to go to Goulding Cay to photograph nesting birds, was last seen on the beach in Clifton Heritage Park next to Jaws Beach around 10 o’clock Sunday morning. However, it disappeared from the beach and was next discovered early Monday morning by his son-in-law in a cave near Blackbeard’s steps at Clifton Pier.
Tony Hepburn is caucasian, 6’3” tall, about 200 pounds, has gray/brown hair and brown eyes. If anyone spotted an elderly man with a camera on the bird trails over the weekend this information could be useful to those searching for him.
Hepburn was on a bird watching trip to photograph birds. He was carrying a black Nikon D300 camera with a 400 MM Nikon telephoto lens that he used for bird photography, and a pair of binoculars.
It is thought that Hepburn was wearing a green shirt, khaki or blue shorts, a beige hat and a yellow and blue life jacket.
Anyone who might have seen Hepburn in the Clifton Heritage Park is asked to contact the police, or Sarah Hepburn Pinosch at 457-3507 or Gian Pinosch at 457-1111.
