IT IS that festive time again, with one of the most exciting Summer celebrations right around the corner. The Little Pink Party “Salute The Summer” will play host to women, men, and children on the grounds of the historic Collins Estate on May 25 and 26.
According to the event’s founder and producer Kandice Hanna of KhanAali Media Group, the Little Pink Party is like a field-trip for girlfriends, couples, families and co-workers. It welcomes one and all into the world of all things fashionable, entertaining, and yummy. Team TLPP, she said, has curated a collection of over 60 small businesses and locally-represented brands with the best in class products and services. For the past five years, the event has supported The Cancer Society of The Bahamas. The event was designed to be “a fashionable opportunity to support the fight against breast cancer,” giving exhibitors and attendees an opportunity to give back while they promote, sell or shop and score freebies, said Kandice. Along with Kandice, the Little Pink Party was founded by her sister, Krista Hanna-Nairn. Both women are marketing and special event specialists and principals of KhanAali Media Group Ltd. In 2008, having grown tired of hosting night club events under their subsidiary “Events by iCandy,” the girls thought it best to get into corporate events instead. Kandice said with the debut of the first Sex and The City movie in 2008, they saw an opportunity to test the market with a mini-shopping and martini party for women, centred around the themes of the series. The “Get Carrie’d Away” party included 5 exhibitors and 75 female participants, who received swag bags and the movie’s signature cosmopolitan martinis.
“With the support of some of the most talented women in the country as a part of the executive team, as well as sponsors, partners and exhibitors, the event has grown to hosting over 60 exhibitors, 2,500 women, men, and children. And gives away 1,000 free entry swag bags at each event,” said Kandice.
The event motivates women by celebrating all of the joys of womanhood in an environment where the strength and talents of Bahamian women are displayed, she said.
“It is not just an expo nor is it just a shopping party. It is the perfect mix of what the exhibitor needs to introduce themselves and their product line to a host of consumers who are guaranteed a high-energy, fashionable shopping experience where they can shop, sip, see, sample, snap, and score more out of this one of a kind style emporium. Also, the event is not just for women, just as it is not just in support of breast cancer. Over the past few events, the patronage from men and children has grown remarkably,” said Kandice. The event’s organisers have strategically implemented more features to attract men and children.
In support of pro-social causes for all Bahamians, the Little Pink Party extends invitations to various local charities to display at the event and raise awareness for their causes. For the “Salute The Summer” event, the Bahamas Crisis Centre, The AIDS Foundation, Special Olympics, the Ranfurly Home, Ardastra Gardens, and Hands for Hunger will all appear alongside the Cancer Society of The Bahamas.
