FORMER NIB Director Algernon Cargill plans to sue the National Insurance Board after his company-issued vehicle was confiscated by the Board from his home yesterday morning.
According to well-placed sources the 2008 Honda Accord, which was issued to the former Director as part of his total remuneration package, was picked up at 10.01am on Friday by an employee from the Property Department.
The Tribune understands that Mr Cargill’s wife co-operated fully with the hand over - as Mr Cargill was reportedly not at home at the time.
The vehicle was allegedly received by Mr Cargill after he opted out of his $1,100 per month car allowance in 2008 - which allowed him to purchase the car at book value in 2012.
This car allowance policy at NIB was reportedly started by the Minister of National Insurance Shane Gibson during his first term in office back in 2002-2006.
The Tribune understands no settlement has been offered to Mr Cargill, the now terminated Director, who was summarily relieved of his post on Thursday night by the NIB Board.

Cargill is small fish compared what Hubert did to PLP's.
Do y'all remember when Hubert had the tow trucks working overtime, repossession former PLP's government cars?
Didn't Hubert also repossess Comrade PM Pindling's government car?

One observation, ever since the PLP government return to office I've notice our courts being tied up more and more, because of bad judgments ,or poor interpretations of contracts regarding simple disputes that can be easily settled.Example this NIB matter with Cargil, BEC union now have Leslie Miller in court over breach of contract, the poorly drafted referandum. These matters and more are keeping the the average man who has a real need to use our court system away from swift justice.

Not to single out any one individual(s), the whole pension scheme offered to government appointees for few years work is much more generous than what working natives in general are lucky to receive after many more years of work?
I don't lay the blame directly at the recipients. This is a bad behavior practiced by consecutive gold and red shirts administrations.
PM Christie can start by eliminating the repossession costs of government vehicles, by selling off the government's fleet of vehicles.
Compare the ease of which pensions are quickly paid out by government, against what we have all read in the media that not only has some former City Meat Market workers not been paid what the are owed, but this same National Insurance Board, under Minister Shane has even given consideration to using workers premiums to facilitate the repayment of monies owed to the workers, all through the purchase in the multi millions of dollars (workers back-breaking premiums), of a former property owned by City Meat Markets?
Comrades the last I heard about this building purchase was not that NIB premiums should not be used to buy it but if the government could come up with a good enough excuse to buy it?
