BAIL was granted to a Defence Force officer who was recently charged in connection with a $20,000 cocaine seizure at Grand Bahama International Airport.
Brian Andrew Young appeared before Justice Bernard Tuner yesterday morning with his attorney Krysta Mason-Smith and was granted $15,000 bail with two suretors and reporting conditions to the East Street South Police Station.
On May 3, he was arraigned on a charge of possession of dangerous drugs with intent to supply that allegedly occurred on May 1.
Along with Marvin Poitier, he was also charged with conspriacy to possess dangerous drugs with intent to supply. Both pleaded not guilty to their respective charges.
On the day in question, Drug Enforcement Unit officers acted on a tip that led them to the airport where the two were boarding a plane.
On searching the backpack of Young, suspected cocaine was found.
The men stand trial in magistrates’ court on October 10.
