THE jury in the Marco Archer murder trial heard testimony from a scenes of crime investigator yesterday who examined a car belonging to Kofhe Goodman, the man accused of Marco’s murder.

Detective Corporal Jermaine Stubbs told the court that he was instructed to conduct an examination of a vehicle while it was parked and secured at the Cable Beach police station.

Stubbs said he photographed the vehicle and then examined it and its contents for evidence, as well as testing for finger prints.

During cross-examination by Goodman’s attorney Geoffrey Farquharson, the officer admitted to not knowing that the car was there for a number of days and said he could not personally attest to the security of the car.

The attorney then suggested that the investigator, who testified about having years of experience in crime scene investigations and training with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, should have known that something was amiss when he was called to examine a car days later and not immediately following its owner’s arrest.

Corporal Stubbs disagreed with the suggestion, saying that he was acting on instructions.

Goodman, 37, of Yorkshire Drive, faces a murder charge, which he denies. It is claimed that between September 23 and 28 of 2011, he caused the death of Marco Archer, who disappeared from Brougham Street and was found dead days later.

Garvin Gaskins, Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions is prosecuting the case with Neil Braithwaite and Darell Taylor.

The trial resumes today before Justice Bernard Turner.
