THE jury in the Marco Archer murder trial heard testimony from a police corporal who visited an apartment building on Yorkshire Street the day after a body was found in bushes behind it.
In yesterday’s proceedings before Justice Bernard Turner, the crime scene investigator said that on September 29, 2011, he went to the pink apartment complex to photograph the inside of a unit allegedly connected to the case.
In the split level unit, he photographed the scene from the entrance up to the bedroom and collected samples which he preserved and submitted to the Police Forensics Lab on October 2, 2011 for testing.
However, during cross-examination, it was put to the officer that October 2 was a Sunday and that the lab was not open.
The officer maintained that he submitted the items on that date, along with an analysis request form.
He also denied being at the Cable Beach police station assisting an officer in examining a car seized as part of the case.
Kofhe Goodman, 37, of Yorkshire Drive, faces a murder charge which he denies. It is claimed that between September 23 and 28 of 2011, he caused the death of 11-year-old Marco Archer, who disappeared from Brougham Street and was found dead days later.
Garvin Gaskins, Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, along with Neil Braithwaite and Darell Taylor, are prosecuting the case.
Geoffrey Farquharson is defending Kofhe Goodman. The case began on April 19.
