THE Adventure Learning Centre is carrying out an enhancement project in commemoration of its 20th anniversary and RBC has stepped in lend major support to the initiative.
The Christian-based camp has been making learning fun and exiting for students across the Bahamas since 1993.
Under the theme ‘bringing the wonders of God’s Creation together with the curiosity of kids’, ACL provides children with hands-on science based educational experiences.
Over the past 20 years, more than 200,000 children and adults have attended the camp.
The current enhancement project focuses on 20 specific goals ACL wants to achieve in an effort to improve and expand the organisation.
While RBC has been a generous sponsor, ACL is also seeking to partner with other donors in an effort to attain its goals.
RBC’s sponsorship will finance the replacement of the Nature Centre front railing and the purchase of the IMAX movie ‘Grand Canyon Adventure’.
The movie raises awareness about the world water crisis. Students will be invited to view the movie at the centre; in addition ALC will open to the general public for Saturday afternoon IMAX showings.
“It is our pleasure to support Adventure Learning Centre”, said Jan Knowles, RBC manager for public relations and communications.
“For 20 years ACL has provided a unique opportunity for young persons in the Bahamas to come, play, learn and explore in a wholesome environment.
“RBC is delighted to partner with ACL to help young people gain new knowledge of the world, connect to nature and learn about preserving their environment.”
“Adventure Learning Centre is truly grateful and appreciative of RBC’s support” said Mark Wallace, ALC director.
“RBC’s commitment to the children of the nation, through their support of the ALC, has been an important source of funding and encouragement to us over the past 20 years.”
