FREEPORT – Grand Bahama Police made one arrest on Wednesday after a quantity of suspected marijuana was discovered at a home in the Freeport area.
Drug Enforcement Unit officers were in Fawcett Lane at around 11.30am when they discovered 104 foil packages containing marijuana.
According to police reports, the drugs have an estimated street value of $350.
A 25-year-old male resident of Fawcett Lane was detained for questioning in connection with the matter.
Sudden death
Investigations are ongoing into the sudden death of a parent who was discovered unconscious in the restroom at a government high school on Wednesday.
Inspector Terecita Pinder said police received a report at around 10.30am that a woman had collapsed on the campus of a government high school.
The victim, a 58-year-old resident of Columbus Drive, was transported by ambulance to the Rand Memorial Hospital, where she died a short time later.
