A 20-year-old man has been taken into custody in connection with an attempted armed robbery on Saturday.
Shortly after 8pm, the victim was at his Zirconia Court, College Gardens home, when a man with a handgun approached him and tried to rob him of his cell phone.
The victim immediately screamed for help, alerting neighbours who came to his rescue.
The neighbours subdued a man and later handed him over to police for questioning, along with a handgun and a quantity of ammunition.
Two men, ages 35 and 24, were also arrested on Saturday in connection with an unlicensed firearm.
Shortly after 2pm, Mobile Division officers were patrolling Amaryllis Avenue, Garden Hills, when they searched a grey Mercedes Benz.
During the search, the officers found a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition.
Active investigations continue.
