POLICE have not yet classified the shooting death of another Democratic National Alliance general this weekend.
Mario Saunders, campaign general for Tall Pines candidate Dario Terelli, died at hospital hours after he was shot in his upper thigh Friday evening.
According to police, Mr Saunders checked into the hospital shortly after another shooting incident — this time on Myrton Avenue off Farrington Road.
At Myrton Avenue, 22-year-old Timothy Rolle was found dead with a gunshot wound in his head around 11:15pm.
Police responded to reports of gunfire in the Baldwin Avenue area when they discovered Mr Rolle’s lifeless body with gunshot wounds in the right side of his head.
Mr Rolle, also known as “Rat”, was a resident of Bethel Avenue. Police have not yet released the identities of the two men.
Last night, Paul Rolle, officer in charge of the Central Detective Unit, said police had one man, a 24-year-old Chippingham resident, in custody in connection with Timothy Rolle’s murder.
He added that the shooting incidents did not appear to be related.
The CDU chief said police were investigating reports that Mr Saunders was shot in the Carmichael Road area.
Mr Saunders, a Millenium Gardens resident, died of his injuries sometime around 6am Saturday.
Over the weekend, relatives and party members expressed disbelief over the loss of the campaign general.
Mr Saunder’s death follows the fatal shooting of businessman Kurt McCartney, brother of DNA Leader Branville McCartney.
CDU Chief Mr Rolle told The Tribune that although police have no one in custody for Kurt McCartney’s murder, they are confident they will solve the murder.
Mr McCartney was shot in his head in Gambier Village last month.
Shortly after his death police arrested eight people, six women and two men. However, they were released after a few days.
Since then no one has been arrested or charged. Supt Rolle said police have several new leads, but nothing significant to report.
Anyone with information that might assist investigations should call police at 919 or Crime Stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477).

What's the definition of causing harm again?

Well...the same thing as murder, but we don't want to call it that...so it will be causing harm resulting in death...
