THE body of an unidentified man, who was shot multiple times in the head, was discovered on a dirt road off Cowpen Road late Saturday night.
It happened around 9:30pm.
Police say they received an anonymous call that the lifeless body of a man was found on a dirt road at the back of Hollywood Subdivision.
When they arrived they found a man, lying face down, with gunshot injuries in his head and upper back.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the victim had no identification on him, but he is believed to be in his late teens or early 20’s.
Anyone with information on this murder is asked to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime stoppers at 328-TIPS.
This latest homicide brings the country’s murder count to 96 for the year.
Police say they are in the early stages of their investigations and have no motive for this latest murder.
Meanwhile, the 43-year-old officer who was taken into custody hours after his wife was stabbed to death, is still in Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre.
Sources say the officer has not yet been questioned by police, but is expected to be charged this week in connection with the stabbing.
His wife, Alfreda Stubbs, 39, a pharmacy manager at AML foods, died Friday afternoon of her injuries. Her teenage son, who was also stabbed, is still in hospital in serious, but stable condition.
