THE Lyford Cay International School is holding an open house on Saturday, November 30, at 2pm at the school campus in Lyford Cay.
The afternoon will consist of a visual presentation explaining the rigorous International Baccalaureate system; the creative arts programme; the state of the art technology platform; the diverse international and Bahamian student body; the small class sizes; and the financial aid programme which is available to qualifying Bahamians.
LCIS has had eight graduating classes to date with 100 per cent college or university acceptance.
Many graduates have been able to receive credits at college with their results in the IB Diploma Programme.
In the 2013 graduating class, 93 per cent of diploma students achieved the full IB diploma, which is 14.5 per cent above the worldwide IB percentage (78.5 per cent).
The 2013 graduating class was awarded $1 million in scholarships and financial aid.
LCIS students who chose to write the BGCSEs achieved a 95 per cent A to C pass rate resulting in an outstanding B+ average.
The school noted that 80 per cent of LCIS students live outside of Lyford Cay, that they represent 24 countries, and that 10 languages are spoken on the campus.
