RAY Minus Jr said he’s thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with so many boxers in the past. Now he’s afforded the chance to work with rising young professional boxer/kick boxer Yolaine Lindelauf.

Minus Jr is preparing Lindelauf to make her debut in the Bahamas on the Buttons Formal Wear/Strikers Club professional boxing show on Friday, December 8 in the Rainforest Theatre of the Wyndham Nassau Resort, Cable Beach.

Lindelauf, who spots a 6-1 win-loss record, is the runner-up for the European Boxing Union’s flyweight title and is a two-time Belgium champion in kick boxing. She is training at Minus’ Champion Boxing Club on Wulff Road.

“She’s a very good boxer, but she just needs to sharpen up on her jab,” said Minus Jr, the former Bahamas and Commonwealth lightweight champion. “That’s one of the things that I’ve been working on with her. Other than that, she’s a very good technical boxer. She should win this fight. I hope that she can get a really good opponent who can test her. This is going to be a very good fight for her. I am just excited to have her here in the Bahamas.”

Lindelauf said she’s just honoured to be trained by such a legend as Minus Jr.

“I don’t have any problems with going into the ring,” she said. “I don’t want to disappoint the people who are coming, so I’m preparing myself to give a very good performance in the ring. I am so honoured to be on the card.”

Having fallen in love with the Bahamas, Lindelauf said if she gets the opportunity to fight here, she would like to make this her home base for further appearances in the ring, if the promotional team will give her another opportunity.
