After placing 5th runner up in the Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year in 2007 while attending Xavier’s Lower School, Amanda Megan Chea moved on to Queen’s College where she continued to excel. In 2010, she transferred to 10th grade at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Connecticut where she joined three other Bahamian girls, Candace Fields, Holly Sands, and Tatiana Donaldson. There they formed a camaraderie and Amanda represented the Bahamas on the Board of the Caribbean Club. She played golf for Choate and won 1st place at the Pippy O’Connor 9 Hole Golf Tournament in May 2013.
The rigor of the course work at Choate was a difficult adjustment at first but hard work paid off and Amanda was accepted to her university of choice, Boston University, where she is presently majoring in Neuroscience. Amanda is the eldest of three children of Dr Williamson Chea and Dr Christine Chin.
