FREEPORT - Two Bahamians and a Jamaican were arrested on Sunday in connection with an alleged human smuggling operation on Grand Bahama.
Acting on information, officers went to an area near Silver Sands Court on Bahamia Reef Boulevard around 8pm, where they discovered eight persons suspected of being illegal immigrants.
Inspector Terecita Pinder confirmed that three Columbians (two women and one man); four Haitians (two men and two women); and one Guyanese man were taken into custody and turned over to Immigration authorities.
She said the Police and Immigration officials are continuing their investigations into the matter.
