INVESTIGATORS are asking the public’s help in finding a man and woman who have disappeared in Andros.

Triska Nadia Braynen, 28, of Cargill Creek, and 49-year-old Shane Gardiner who lived in Love Hill, both in Central Andros, were reported missing around 1:45pm Sunday.

Mr Gardiner, an Immigration officer, was recently assigned to the island by his Department in Nassau.

Yesterday, police spokesman Stephen Dean insisted that, contrary to rumours, no bodies had been found. However, he said the government vehicle assigned to Mr Gardiner had been found abandoned on the island.

The vehicle, The Tribune understands, was cleaned and left little evidence or leads to be found when authorities made the discovery.

Meanwhile, two firearms were taken off New Providence streets in two separate incidents on Sunday.

During the first incident, the Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit uncovered an assault rifle on Williams Street, off Shirley Street.

About three hours later, a shot gun was found by authorities in a park at Colony Village. Police said no one was arrested in either incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 919, 328-TIPS or 1-242-300-8476 in the family islands.
