CANADIAN reporters and travel writers are telling of their experiences in Great Exuma as that island continues to promote its attributes to the world.
Petherina Hanna, general manager of the Exuma Tourism Office, said as this is the soft season, “we are looking forward to many more groups coming here and telling our stories and going back and marketing the Exumas.”
Excited about the visit of the Canadian group, Mrs Hanna noted that the writers were from different media companies and will write stories about their personal experiences.
“And the more we can get the Exuma story out there the more we can fill our hotel rooms with guests so we are very excited about that.”
Ambrose Morris, manager of communications at the Bahamas Tourist Office in Toronto, Canada said the trip brought nine journalists from various media houses and travel trade magazines from Toronto and Montreal to Exuma and Nassau.
Also present were representatives of Air Canada Vacations, who showcased their Bahamas products for the winter season.
“They are very much impressed with the flora, the fauna and the people. In Nassau we were able to visit several properties there,” Mr Morris, said.
“The stories that they are going to craft are going to cover some of the experiences while they are here. We will also swim with the pigs – everyone’s so excited about it,” he said.
Air Canada has direct services from Toronto to Exuma and daily flights from Toronto and Montreal into Nassau.
