A Bahamian cultural extravaganza was the highlight of a weekend Atlanta reception hosted by the Ministry of Tourism and the Grand Bahama Tourism Board to support the upcoming launch of Delta’s direct service between the city and Grand Bahama, beginning on December 19.
The crowd that jammed the ballroom of the Georgian Hotel, midtown Atlanta, was feted to Bahamian delicacies such as conch fritters, Bahamian entertainers and the sight and sounds of Bahamian Junkanoo.
The reception concluded a sales mission to the Atlanta area that was primarily to herald Delta’s upcoming direct service to Grand Bahama, but also announce this nation’s return to the Atlanta area. The Bahamas Tourist Office in Atlanta is being re-opened with Eddie Archer returning as the manager.
