Home invasion investigated

FREEPORT – Grand Bahama Police are investigating a home invasion and armed robbery in West End in which the culprits stole a firearm and more than $10,000 cash.

According to reports, two masked men armed with handguns entered a home on Queens Highway just before 11pm on Saturday.

The gunmen accosted a woman and ordered to call a male resident of the home, who was not there at the time.

When the man got home, the gunmen searched the house, making off with $12,000 in cash, a licensed shotgun valued at $4,000, and four cellular phones.

Inspector Terecita Pinder said police are investigating the incident.

She said one suspect was wearing a black hooded jacket and dark green pants. He was described as about 6ft 1in tall, of slim built and dark complexion.

The other suspect was wearing dark clothing and spoke with an American accent. He is described as 5ft 7in tall and of slim built. He has gold teeth to the top and bottom of his mouth.

Ms Pinder said the culprits fled the scene in a 2001 gold two-door Cadillac Eldorado, which was later recovered in the Eight Mile Rock area.

Anyone with information that can assist the police with their investigation is asked to call 350-3107/8, 911/919 or the nearest police station.
