GROUPS can now book reservations at Grand Hyatt residences at Baha Mar, senior vice president of external and governmental affairs Robert Sands told The Tribune yesterday. Baha Mar is expected to have its grand opening in December 2014.
In the meantime, Mr Sands said the resort is submitting proposals to have groups make reservations there.
The groups, he said, will have more than 100, 200 and even 300 persons.
Leisure time bookings will begin at the resort at the end of the first quarter next year.
In addition, Mr Sands said executives are not concerned about not having the extra airlift needed to accommodate the mega resort.
“We are very confident we will be able to increase airlifts,” he said. “We have been working collectively with the Ministry of Tourism and other industry related organisations to ensure we have an additional 400,000 air seats available by 2015.”
“We just had a successful Routes Conference in Las Vegas, which we attended along with representatives from the Airline Authority, NAD and Ministry of Tourism. We are working with multiple airlines and are very confident the Bahamas will achieve its airlift obligations.”
