A FATHER of three gunned down while playing dominoes was one of four men shot and two killed in yet another 24 hours filled with violence - including, last night, the fatal shooting of a man reported to be Leroy Adderley, who was aquitted in court last month of a sex attack at a Bible school.

The first shooting happened just before 10pm at White’s Road off Kemp Road.

Police say the victim, who sources identify as Deon Johnson, also known as “Cokes”, was playing dominoes with a group of men in a driveway when two men approached in a dark Honda Accord. The men opened fire, shooting him multiple times. He died at the scene.

Johnson, who was said to be well known to police, became the country’s 80th murder victim.

The Tribune understands a second man was also shot. He was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital.

Then, last night, two men were shot at different locations between 9 and 10pm.

The first, Leroy Adderley, alias Scar, 48, was shot multiple times while at his Pitt Road home. He died at the scene, becoming the 81st murder victim for the year.

Minutes later, another shooting was reported on Kemp Road.

The police reported that the man was still alive last night, having been shot in the arm and the leg.

Speaking about the murder of Deon Johnson yesterday, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Anthony Ferguson said police have no one in custody in connection with the incident and are asking members of the public who might have any information to contact them immediately.

ACP Ferguson added that police do have a 25-year-old man in custody in connection with the murder of Alexander Joseph.

Joseph died at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Wednesday after he was shot while standing in front of his Fleming Street home Tuesday afternoon.

ACP Ferguson also confirmed that police have three men in custody in connection with the murder of Aaron Thurston and the shooting of Cabrio Wells. Both men were shot about 2pm Wednesday during a backgammon game on Fowler Street.

Police are asking anyone with information on any of these incidents to contact them at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stopper anonymously at 328-TIPS.
