A LEADING realtor says he has already moved one-third of the units in his New Providence Development Company Ltd (NPDCo) portfolio, adding that there was a “fair bit of demand” in western New Providence.

John Christie, vice-president of H. G. Christie Real Estate, the sales and marketing agent for a selection of properties in three of NPDCo’s prime developments, told Tribune Business he had managed to sell six of the 18 units being handled by his firm.

He added: “In the Old Fort Bay Town Centre there are only 12 units left for sale, and four units left for rent out of 24. They are selling and moving fairly well.

“Out of the 12, only four would be end units, so if you want an end unit you need to take advantage of it right now. There were 18 units for sale when we took over; now there are only 12. Because they are priced so well most people would probably be buying them. There’s very limited space; once those units are gone they’re gone.”

H.G.Christie recently hosted a small reception to showcase the offerings, inclusive of office and commercial units as well as four lots in the Old Fort Bay community.

“We had a great turnout at the reception and strong interest. We are seeing a fair bit of demand, so we are confident that they will be sold and rented.

“We’ll keep pushing it until they are all gone.

“We also have four one-acre building lots in the front of the building which people can use for their own businesses, create their own design, look and feel,” said Mr Christie.

“There are a lot of new developments really coming on stream there, like the Meridian School and the new 500-home development right behind the Old Fort Bay Town Centre. There will be thousands of people living all around there. It’s going to be the new hub.”

The retail section at the Old Fort Bay Town Centre consists of a 24-unit shopping facility, anchored by the 35,000 square foot Solomon’s Fresh Market.

In mid-August, NPDCo announced it had awarded HG Christie an exclusive agreement on a selection of top properties in three of its prime developments.
