BAAA CONDOLENCES TO

THE LATE BASIL NEYMOUR

LESS than 48 hours after returning from Grand Bahama where he paid his last respects to the late Errol Bodie, arguably one of our most successful coaches in the Bahamas Association of Athletic Associations, president Mike Sands said it was with sadness that he learned of the passing of Basil Neymour.

“On behalf of the executives of the Bahamas Association of Athletic Associations (BAAA) and the track and field fraternity, we once again extend our profound condolences to the bereaved families,” Sands said. “The recent deaths of our family members, however, should remind us all of the Biblical writer that in the midst of life, we are in death.

“We are all aware of the many contributions that each one of these giants of a man has made to the positive development of our beloved sport, so much so that to a great extent sports and in particular track and field was their other family. May the good they did and attempted to do speak for them and may their warrior souls rest in peace.”

BOC CONDOLENCES TO NEYMOUR

THE Bahamas Olympic Committee joined other members of the wider sporting community in mourning the passing of Basil Neymour, who was a philanthropist to Bahamian sport and will be sorely missed.

“Our heartfelt condolences are extended to the entire Neymour family,” said a press release.

“The Olympic Committee is certain that the impact of Mr Neymour’s wide and unflagging support for the sporting community and Bahamian sporting individuals will be felt and remembered positively for generations to come.”
