TWO men accused of having a role in a double murder that occurred in their community appeared in Supreme Court yesterday for a case management proceeding.
Stephen “Die” Stubbs, 38, and Giovanni Roberts, 31, both of Ridgeland Park appeared before Justice Indra Charles for a follow-up on the developments of their case prior to their April 2014 trial.
However, the media was not allowed into the hearings because the matter was dealt with in chambers.
Together the accused face a charge of abetment to murder, which they denied when they were formally arraigned in the Supreme Court in December last year before Senior Justice Jon Isaacs.
It is alleged that the two aided and abetted the murders of Jamacio Jones and Clayton Smith on September 15, 2011.
Jones and Smith were found in a white Maxima in the middle of the road in Ridgeland Park with gun shot wounds.
Smith, who was shot in the back of the head, died at the scene while Jones died of his injuries in hospital two days later.
