AN ABACO man has now spent his first night of four years behind bars at Her Majesty’s Prison after pleading guilty to growing marijuana with the intention of selling it.
Trevan Adderley, 23, of the Bight, Moores Island, appeared before Magistrate James Moxey facing two charges – cultivation of dangerous drugs and possession of dangerous drugs with intent to supply.
The charges were allegedly committed on September 24, three days ago. Adderley pleaded guilty to both charges.
On the day in question, a team of officers on Moore’s Island executed a search warrant on a home, where they discovered 30 marijuana plants ranging from four to ten feet in height.
Packages of suspected drugs totalling 12 and a quarter ounces were also found in the home.
Adderley, the marijuana plants and the packages were all taken into police custody and flown to New Providence where the now convict was interviewed under caution regarding the drug find.
Magistrate Moxey sentenced Adderley to two years imprisonment on the second charge while the cultivation charge got the defendant a four year sentence.
The sentences are to run concurrently.
Adderley was represented by attorney Calvin Seymour.
