POLICE are asking for your help in locating the man responsible for the country’s latest murder.

It happened around 9.30pm Wednesday off Market Street.

Police say the victim was walking on John Road when he was approached by a man known to him and shot several times.

The suspect ran in unknown direction.

The victim was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries a short time later.

This latest homicide comes nearly two weeks after the government implemented a new crime fighting plan - which included putting officers on 12 hour-shifts and deploying 150 Defence Force marines to assistance police officers.

Last week, Minister of National Security Dr Bernard Nottage said he was encouraged by the initial results and the 12-hour shifts will continue “as long as it is needed and necessary”.

The country’s murder count now stands at 82.

Police are also asking for your assistance in locating the person responsible for a shooting incident that left a man in serious condition in hospital.

It happened around 9pm on Wednesday.

Police say the victim was a playing a game of dominoes outside a Woods Alley home, when a man approached him and shot him several times.

The victim was taken to hospital by a private vehicle, where he is listed in serious condition.

Investigations are ongoing.

Anyone with information on any of these matters are asked to call 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit on 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 328-TIPS.

How do the police know that the suspect "was known" to the victim? And if he was known to him, does this mean that the case is solved?

It's amazing how they have soo much information about what happen or how and when it happen, but they still say they have no information! Who gave them this account of the story in the first place!

The victim was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries. Before dying its a possibility he gave some information seeing that he didn't died on the spot. Even so his dying words could have been 'such n such' shot me before his final breathe was taken. However the police to leak such information that the suspect got to say he knew the killer just gave the killer the upper hand in conjuring up his whereabouts that night or skipping town.

Tis victim succumbed to his injuries.....later... so its probaby safe to assume that the he probably told the police this prior to his death.
