Thelma Gibson Primary School’s students are on a mission to shine.
The S.H.I.N.E scheme is a hallmark of excellence established by the school, aiming to develop quality leaders one child at a time.
A quality leader is a student who: 1. Strives for Excellence; 2. Sets good examples and exemplifies good behavior at all times; 3. Is a role-model; 4. Has self-confidence; 5. Is willing to stand alone ; 6. Thinks win, win and finally; 7. Is an active member of the school community.
Dashanel Thompson is a student who exudes these seven characteristics of a quality leader. She is a fifth-grade student at Thelma Gibson Primary School, and has consistently made the principal’s list. She is a member of the school’s dance troupe, Junior Achievers Elementary Organisation, Junior Red Cross Link and Spelling Bee Club. She most recently participated in the Ministry of Education’s Religious Education Speech Competition, where she emerged the North Eastern District’s winner.
