POLICE have issued a public appeal for any information that may assist investigations into an armed robbery at a Fox Hill food store this week.
Two men, armed with a handgun, robbed a food store at Hanna Road, according to police reports, which indicated the culprits escaped on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash sometime before 10pm on Thursday.
Meanwhile in other crime matters, officers arrested nine people in separate incidents, including armed robbery and threats of death, yesterday.
According to reports, five people were arrested for outstanding criminal warrants by officers from the Eastern Division; and four people were arrested by officers from the Northeastern Division on separate matters related to armed robbery, threats of death, and two incidents of causing harm.
Officers also shut down 10 roadside garages for operating in breach of the Business Licence Act this week.
The crack down on roadside garages was conducted by officers from the Northeastern Division on Thursday.
Officers shut down garages located at Kemp Road near Coopers Terrace; Strachan’s Alley; Sturrup Lane off Sutton Street; Whites Addition; Pinedale Road; Raymond Road and Montrose Avenue.
