THE Sands team recently held its 4th annual golf tournament at the Fortune Hills Golf Course in Grand Bahama.
Robbie Butler, Grand Bahama Sales Manager at Bahamian Brewery and Beverage, said it was a good day for all who attended and a huge success.
Prizes were given at the tournament for men’s and ladies’ net teams, men’s and ladies’ lowest gross, longest drive and closest to the pin. The winning net teams were Osborn Cooper and James Sands for the men’s team and Jill Cooper and Gloria Lucas for the women’s team. The first place gross teams were Allison Stuart and Joern Durselen for the men and Sheila Taylor and Hazel Hallatt for the women.
The golfers getting closest to the pin were Joern Durselen and Gloria Lucas, while Hanford Bain and Anthony Cooper were tied for the men’s longest drive and Jill Cooper had the longest drive for the women.
“The only thing more perfect for a day of golf would have been to have a hole in one,” said Winston Moss at Bahamian Brewery and Beverage. “Even though that didn’t happen the weather couldn’t have never been any nicer, and had I not seen it for myself, one might have said it was a set up as Mr Jimmy Sands, the brewery’s owner, and his team won the tournament in fine style.”
All of the winners received a six-pack of High Rock Lager and a bottle Flora De Cana four year old Gold Rum, from Jimmy’s Liquor Store. Additionally, all of the participants received a gift thanks to Bahamian Brewery and Beverage Company Ltd.
“The whole day was a success in more ways than one,” said Mr Moss, “the day was filled with lots of thrills, as at times the shots made were unbelievable to say the least, and for those who missed out this year we’ll see you at the Fortune Hills Greens in 2015.”
