HOPE Centre, Macedonia, Eagles Nest and Men of Vision all emerged as the winners of their respective games as the Baptist Sports Council played one of their men’s best-of-three playoffs Tuesday night at the DW Davis Gymnasium.
Hope Centre had to go to overtime before they pulled off a 48-45 decision over Church of the Nazarene.
Macedonia knocked off Cousin McPhee 53-42.
Eagles Nest pounded Evangelistic Centre 44-29.
Men of Vision had to go to overtime as well for a 53-52 win.
Game two of the four series is all set to be played tonight at DW Davis

Church of Nazarene 45 OT
Jackson Jacob canned a game high 28 points as President Divisional second place Hope Centre got the initial win. Perry Lubin had 19 in the loss for third place Church of Nazarene.
Macedonia 53, Cousin McPhee 42
Delano Knowles pumped in 15 points as Macedonia held on for the win for the President Divisional pennant winners. Shaquille Bain matched Knowles’ effort with 15 as well in a losing effort for the fourth place Cousin McPhee.
Eagles Nest 44, Evangelistic 29
Cordero Thompson scored 11 points to pace the Vice President Divisional second place Eagles Nest to victory. Deangelo Griffin had a game high 15 points for 3rd place Evangelistic Centre.
Men of Vision 53, BIBA 52 OT
Jason Cooper scored 13 points, including the game winning basket with 0.5 seconds left on the clock for the win for Vice President pennant winners. The game was tied 42-42 at the end of regulation.
Val Williams had a game high 23 points for BIBA.
