THREE men are in hospital after they were shot in two separate incidents at Fox Hill Day celebrations early yesterday morning.

The first shooting happened around 2:30am at the Bing Night Club in Fox Hill.

Police say they were called to the local night club when gunshots were heard.

When they arrived, they discovered two men lying on the floor with a large crowd gathered around them.

According to reports, two groups of men were involved in an argument that resulted in two of them, ages 30 and 23 from Johnson Road, being shot in the legs and abdomen.

They were taken to hospital where they are listed in serious, but stable condition.

Police recovered a “significant amount” of “fired cartridges” from the street, The Tribune was told.

A video of the shooting circulated on social media networks yesterday. The video shows several people running while guns were being fired in the presence of police. At least 16 gun shots were heard on the nearly minute-long video.

In the video, a bystander is heard yelling for someone to call an ambulance because “someone was lying in the street.”

Assistant Commissioner of Police Anthony Ferguson said even after police arrived on the scene, the groups of men continued to shoot at each other. He said police are still trying to piece together what happened.

About an hour later, police were called to the scene of another shooting in Fox Hill, this time off Prince Charles Avenue.

When they arrived on the scene, the found a 28-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds in his neck and shoulder.

He was taken to hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

ACP Ferguson said police do not believe the shootings are related.

The shooting happened hours after Fox Hill residents ended Fox Hill Day celebrations and a few feet away from a memorial, erected two days ago, to remember the victims of a deadly December 27, 2013 shooting in the area.

Claudzeno Davis, Shenique Sands, Eric Morrison and Shaquille Demeritte were shot and killed on Freedom Park as they gathered to watch the results of last year’s Boxing Day junkanoo parade.

Three men were charged with their murders.

Anyone with information on yesterday’s shootings is asked to call police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.

MURDER SUSPECTS ARRESTED

Police also arrested three men – two in Andros and one in New Providence – in connection with murder.

The first arrest happened late Tuesday night.

According to reports, police in Andros, acting on intelligence, went into the Red Bays area where they arrested two men, both 23-years-old from New Providence, for the murder of Akeem Sands on July 15.

Sands, 24, was shot multiple times and found on a dirt road off Cowpen Road.

Police also arrested a 38-year-old man of Montell Heights,  in connection with the murder of Ryan Smith on Tuesday.

Smith was shot in the head late Monday night off Soldier Road.

He was a suspect in the murders of two women. His murder brought the country’s homicide count to 77.
