POLICE are investigating two separate traffic accidents in Grand Bahama yesterday that have resulted in three men being injured and taken to hospital for treatment.

The first accident occurred around 7am on Queens Highway when a male passenger was seriously injured after being ejected from a vehicle. He is listed in serious but stable condition at the Rand Memorial Hospital.

According to reports, the driver of a white 2007 Chevy Monte Carlo was travelling west on Queens Highway when he lost control of the vehicle, which collided into the kerbside stone and overturned. The passenger was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he was treated and detained.

The second accident occurred around 1pm at the junction of Yellow Pine Street and Logwood Road.

A maroon 2001 Ford F-150 pickup truck travelling south on Yellow Pine Street and a silver 1994 Nissan Bluebird travelling west on Logwood Road collided.

Inspector Terecita Pinder reported that the driver of the Nissan had failed to make sure that the way was clear before attempting to cross Yellow Pine Street.

Both vehicles were extensively damaged, the drivers injured and taken to hospital for treatment. Police are continuing their investigations into both accidents.
