CHRIS ‘Fireman’ Brown, in his latest outing, picked up a fifth place finish in the 400 metres at the British Athletics Grand Prix in Birmingham, Great Britain, on Sunday.
Brown, the 39-year-old veteran quarter-miler, clocked 45.85 seconds in a hotly contested race.
Winning the race was Grenada’s Kirani James, the recent winner of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, in 44.59.
Botswana’s Isaac Makwala was second in 45.02. Third place went to Martyn Rooney of Great Britain in 45.25 and Luguelin Santos from Dominica was fourth in 45.47.
Brown was the only Bahamian to compete in the meet.
