The Bahamas Basketball Federation’s Summer of Thunder Basketball Tournament came to a close at the Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium Monday night when the Providence Storms pulled off a 75-73 victory over visiting Portland State University.
The tournament, organised by Sean “Bass” Bastian, featured a number of visiting collegiate Div I and III teams, led by the University of Kentucky, as well as the national teams from Brazil, in a series of games over the summer.
According to Bastian, this year’s tournament turned out to be the most competitive and based on the reception that all of the teams got, they anticipate that the tournament will continue to grow in the future with more teams coming in to compete.
