HERO WORLD CHALLENGE
TIGER Woods announced yesterday that the Hero World Challenge, the golf tournament he hosts, will be played at Albany, New Providence, next year.
The former world No.1 had moved the tournament from California, where it ran for 14 years, to Florida for this year but says it will be played in the Bahamas, where Woods once had property, from 2015 in a three-year deal.
Albany is part of the ownership group that includes Isleworth, the Florida venue hosting the 2014 event this week.

CITY BOWLING LEAGUE
THE top player in City Bowling League competition last night was Lasheik Major of Carib Construction who toppled the pins for an outstanding 605 three game set. Runner-up MVP was Alcondo Hepburn of TK Falcons with a 594 set. Arturo Hutchinson of Bahamasair Flyers dropped the pins for a huge 233 game followed by a 226 second high game from Ken Brathwaite of Telco Enterprises.
The ladies’ MVP of the evening was Xynea Johnson of Bahamasair Flyers with a 188 second high game and a respectable 530 three
game set. Johnson was followed by Betsy Taylor of Bahamasair Flyers with a 193 high game and a 483 second high set.

NPVA ACTION
THE New Providence Volleyball Association continued its regular season at the DW Davis Gymnasium on Sunday.
After The Avengers won by default over the Lady Jaguars in the ladies’ opener, the Lady Truckers knocked off the Scottsdale Vixens in three straight games 25-9, 25-9 and 25-14.
The league is scheduled to be back in action tonight with a double header starting at 7:30pm.

BBF AGM
THE Bahamas Baseball Federation is slated to hold its annual general meeting 9:30am to 1pm Saturday, December 6, at the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture. All 15 member associations are expected to attend. They include Youth Baseball Association of Abaco, Bahamas Umpires & Scorers Association, Community Baseball League, Eleuthera Junior Baseball League of Rock Sound, Exuma Baseball League, Freedom Farm Baseball League, Grand Bahama Amateur Baseball Association, Grand Bahama Little League, Inagua Baseball Association, Junior Baseball League of Nassau, Legacy Baseball League, Long Island Baseball Association, New Providence Amateur Baseball League, North Abaco Baseball Association and Spanish Wells Baseball League.

JBLN PRESEASON
THE Junior Baseball League of Nassau is scheduled to continue its preseason 6:30pm this evening at St Andrew’s Field of Dreams with the Pirates taking on the Astros in the minor division. There is also a game slated for 6:30pm Friday when the Giants take on the Twins in the major league. A series of games are on tap, starting 10am Saturday.

HALL OF FAME
THE Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture is scheduled to host its National Sports Heritage Week and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony December 7-12. The week will kick off with a service at Bethel Baptist Church, Meeting Street, 7:45am Sunday, December 7.
The list of inductees will participate in a series of activities during the week, including a visit of the HMBS Sir Durward Knowles ship at the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, a courtesy call at Government House and a luncheon at the Thomas A Robinson National Stadium. The induction ceremony will take place at Government House.
